Water Elemental: finished work!

I finally finished it!!! After all the problems I had, I think it is not so bad. There was a couple times I was so frustated with it... But, here it is, the result of my work!! I will tell you guys when the votations comes up because it is also part of a challenge in Gameartisans. Some critiques are also welcome!!

WIP: Water Elemental_01



This is a new challenge that I am participating at http://www.gameartisans.org . The Challenge is about to make an elemental, so this is my choice, a water elemental. I was inspired by abyssal creatures in the ocean. First I practised the silhouette and some variations of them... The result is the one in color (it is just a test) which is a mixture of two of the designs.

Alien01: model+uvw mapping





Ok, I think is time to start posting even more than before. For now, just the alien model I was working on and I made in 3D Studio. Also, I put the uvw mapping... However, I still have to keep working on it, this is just like a rough first preview.

Speed sculpting_01


Well... this is my first in Zbrush as a speed sculpting. I think I made a weird face, but it is not so bad, in two hours it is fine. I will be better next time.

Mini Challenge: Rhino Warrior


My friend Daniel Orive and me created a challenge for us: it had to be a warrior and also an anthropomorphic animal. So, in 2 hours and a half, we had to make some silhouettes and a fast sketch. And this is the result, I hope to make more fast sketches, keep the mind so awake.

Comicon Challenge 2011: RED MONIKA

I finally did it!! I finished her and it is in the challenge! It was a hard process, mostly the end, but I feel proud that I finished in time. These are the links in Gameartisans, the post  and the gallery where the final submision is.

Next thing I'm gonna do is a turn arroud of the character, just to see the lights and how the specullar affects to the model. This is just the first of many characters in 3d!!

Work in progress...

Here it is Red Monika in low poly. I had so much trouble with it... it is not as clean it should be and the way I organized the texture is not correct either. However, I am finishing it and it will be done for the next monday, when I have to present the final model. I feel good seeing the whole process til here.

These are the las screenshots I made. It wasn´t easy to finish this character. I had soooo many problems, accidents, the software exploited a couple times... A torture... However, this is the result, and I am happy of what I did because it is the first one of many... I hope so...

I am starting to realize how hard this is getting.... really, I am suffering. These pictures are the easy part, they are just a sketch of what I want. Now, I am sculpting pieze by pieze.... This is driving me crazy, but it is just the first model I do in Zbrush, it's part of it.

Comicon Challenge 2011: Red Monika!

At Game Artisans, there is a new challenge about the comicon convention in San Diego (I think it was closed, but they wanted to do it even if it is closed). This is the link of my post: http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26817&highlight=tuptin

So, I had to choose a character in 3D and to make it like in a different universe. I decided to make Red Monika, Madureira's character. And as you can see, her proportions are a little bit exaggerated.... well, the reason I decided to make her is because it makes fun of all the female characters: perfect women, beautiful, good butt and boobs.... the list is long.


I am trying to make her like comic style... but I don´t really know what's gonna happen because this is the first time I do this and I am learning at the same time, so i can't be focused only in the style, just to finish it. However, I don´t even know if I'll be able, but I must try!


So, this is my work in progress, it is just a taste, there will be more soon!!
